Eating here was such an exquisite experience -- every dish was so delightful and nuanced. The atmosphere was moody and perfect for a date or special occasion. The service was friendly and quick as well. APPETIZERS Duck Hummus (5/5): A must try! The duck flavor isn't as strong as expected, but added dimension to the hummus. Delicious with the warm pita bread. Chicken Pate (4/5): Really interesting flavor and perfect with the bread. Oyster Kebab (5/5): This is truly a masterpiece of a dish!! The mushroom tasted meaty and juicy, and the flavors were infused perfectly. Sweet Potato Flatbread (5/5): This might be my favorite dish of the night. The sweet potato was perfect on the bread, and the combination of textures was such a treat!! Grilled Prawns (4/5): These were a bit too saucy for my taste, but they were delicious and pre-peeled! Kibbeh Nayyeh (4/5): I've never had anything like this before, and the combination of flavors was so good! MAINS Lamb Neck Shawarma (4/5): Smaller than expected but very tender and flavorful! Beef Cheek (5/5): SO GOOD and perfect with the beets. Grilled Dorade (3/5): Way too salty for me, but cooked perfectly otherwise.

One word, PRAWNS. I literally dream of coming back for them, as well as the variations of specialty hummus dishes. So good! Presentation? Beautiful. Bavel is always crowded and lively. I'd definitely recommend getting reservations.

Came here for dinner on Monday night and we managed to get seated outdoors without a reservation. Was surprised by how busy the restaurant was on a weekday night! Food was good, although definitely on the pricey side. We shared two hummus starters, the crudo, oyster mushroom and beef cheeks. Food was excellent and we each had different favorites. The oyster mushroom was a true standout with the crispy yet tender texture. The beef cheek was melt in your mouth good. It was just the right amount of food for 3 of us, with probably enough room for dessert. Overall great experience!

Ambiance and service can be hectic here as it is always so busy with a wait time even when you have a reservation, items are very pricey, but the food is undeniably good. The spreads and breads are really where they excel, but each serving of bread is ridiculously small and expensive, and we needed multiple extra servings of bread for each spread we ordered.
